Look up and see the sun shining in the sky
It shines on all day don’t need a reason why
Makes me wanna laugh cause it’s too late to cry
It’s not like the sun to lay down and die
Crucify my soul for I believed it once again
Doctor make me whole so I can see where it began
Tell me do you know is there some vast eternal plan
It’s not like the heart to quickly understand
Guess I will sing another chorus of the blues
Sing another chorus of the blues before I say goodbye
Sing another chorus try and make you cry
Don’t bring me words I cannot use
Just let me sing another chorus of the blues
Guess I will sing another chorus of the blues
Sing another chorus of the blues
Sing another chorus before I say goodbye
Sing another chorus try and make you cry
Don’t bring me words I cannot use
Just let me sing another chorus of the blues
Thought I could mystify you dazzle with my charms
All I really wanted was to lay there in your arms
If you were me what would you say when you’re about to lose
Guess I will sing another chorus of the blues
Sing another chorus of the blues
Sing another chorus before I say goodbye
Sing another chorus try and make you cry
Don’t bring me words I cannot use
Just let me sing another chorus of the blues
Sing another chorus of the blues, hey
Sing another chorus of the blues

Peppermint Tea

I wonder if you find yourself drinking a peppermint tea
And think of me
Where does it take you?
A world where...
Loud laughter is heard
A feel for the absurd
Je ne regrette rien
A world where ...
Random is in
Boredom a sin
Colorful people
Put on Tom Waits and Ricki lee
Steely Dan and JT
A world where ...
Nothing can last
Moving too fast
Just try and repeat it
A world where ...
There’s rip roaring song
Where I belong
With colorful people
My long lost friends and their schemes
I see you all in my dreams
There was Quinn & Madelyn, of course it rhymes
They were poets of a kind
And crazy Marilyn said her boyfriend was back
In another man's body
Iris in the basement cooking with love
You know she set that place on fire
Speaking of fires, remember Coney King
Reciting Shakespeare at the diner
I wonder if you find yourself drinking a peppermint tea
And think of me
Where does it take you

You Make Me Laugh
04:00
|
|||
It isn’t your embrace
Or your delightful face
That makes me know I made the wisest choice.
And if your voice is not my favorite voice
I love to hear you sing off-key,
In the key of Z
But hey it’s okay by me.
I’ll tell you why
My life is better by half
You make me laugh.
When I’m about to burst,
My day has been the worst,
And I can only sit and stew awhile,
You’ve got a smile that always makes me smile,
And that is halfway to a grin.
Let the grin begin!
Precluding the mood I’m in
You should have been
On David Letterman’s staff
You make me laugh
And no matter the joy that we know in this life,
There also will be tears.
I can't think of anyone else
Who could soothe my fears.
Not these fears.
And so I'm thunderstruck
At my colossal luck.
I always knew the one who won my heart
Would be funny and smart.
Double duty!
My sides are good and sore
From rolling on the floor.
And oh, there’s one thing more
You make me laugh.
You should have been
On David Letterman’s staff
You make me laugh
And no matter the joy that we know in this life,
There also will be tears.
I can't think of anyone else
Who could soothe my fears.
Not these fears.
Last time:
It isn’t your embrace
Or your delightful face,
It's more the way you make my spirit soar,
As I mentioned before
I love your kind of kindness, too,
The little things you say and do, And most of all the fact that you
You make me laugh.
